You're installed · v0.1.0

Welcome.
Here's how it works.

ScreenClarity lives in Chrome's side panel. Click the toolbar icon to open it, then follow the three steps. Everything stays on your machine — no accounts, no uploads, no telemetry.

Quick start

Three steps. Side panel only.

1

Capture

Viewport, any DOM element, or drag a freehand region.

2

Edit

Redact sensitive bits. Annotate with text, arrows, numbers.

3

Export

Beautify, then copy or download. Paste anywhere.

Tip: the panel auto-advances to step 2 after a capture. Turn that off in Settings (gear icon) if you'd rather control the flow.

Feature reference

What each step does.

Capture (step 1)

Capture viewport — the full visible tab.

Select element — hover any element, click to crop. Works inside shadow DOM and same-origin iframes.

Select region — drag a rectangle anywhere on the page.

Redact (step 2)

Drag to draw a blur/pixelate/solid box.

Click an existing box to select; drag handles to resize, body to move.

Adjust strength, feather, or color from the panel. Delete with Backspace or the red ×.

Annotate (step 2)

Text — click to drop an inline input.

Arrow — click + drag (or just click for a default).

Number — click to drop the next number in sequence.

Color and size apply per-annotation; click to select, drag to move.

Beautify (step 3)

Padding, rounded corners, drop shadow.

Six gradients, a custom-gradient builder (G), or a solid background (S).

Add a title with size, color, font, and extra top space.

Keyboard shortcuts

The ones that save time.

Cmd / Ctrl + Z Undo the last edit
Cmd / Ctrl + Shift + Z Redo
Delete / Backspace Remove the selected redact box (in Redact mode)
Esc Cancel selector mode, exit redact, or close Settings
Cmd / Ctrl + scroll wheel Zoom the preview (50%–400%)
Enter Commit text annotation

Tips

Things you might miss.

  • Pixelate in Redact gives a chunky retro look — the "strength" slider becomes the cell size.
  • Solid with a chosen colour is the most defensible redaction for legal screenshots — no hidden text, no hint at length.
  • Feather softens blur edges so the box doesn't announce itself.
  • Custom gradient (G in the swatch row) opens two colour pickers. Solid (S) opens one.
  • Title reveals four more controls once you type something: size, colour, font, and extra top space.
  • The download filename includes your title as a slug, so screenclarity-2026-q1-revenue-2026-05-17-191204.png is what you'll see in your Downloads.
