Privacy Policy
ScreenClarity is a Chrome extension. It is built to do its job without telling anyone — including us — what you've captured.
What we collect
Nothing. No accounts, no telemetry, no analytics, no error reporting, no third-party trackers. Screenshots, redactions, and beautified output never leave your browser.
What's stored on your device
-
User preferences (e.g. default blur radius) in
chrome.storage.local. This data lives only on your machine. - The most-recent capture is held in memory while the side panel is open. Closing the panel discards it.
Permissions used
-
activeTab / host_permissions — required by Chrome
to call
captureVisibleTab. Used only when you click a capture action. - scripting — to inject the element/region selector script on demand. Removed as soon as you make a selection.
- storage — to remember your preferences locally.
- sidePanel — to render the editor.
Network requests
ScreenClarity makes no network requests in v1. Future versions may add an opt-in license check; that change will be announced and easy to disable.
Children
The extension is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will update. Material changes will also be noted in the Chrome Web Store release notes.
